The most impactful series of the century
Dear viewers,
Jason Hehir in creating “The Last Dance” has brought viewers something no one has ever done. “The Last Dance” demonstrates the concept of having a winners mentality and determination , while expressing the value through the greatest NBA team assembled; The 90’s Chicago Bulls. Michael Jordan, defined as the greatest basketball player of all time, talks us through the steps in which he had to take to become a 6 time NBA champion. “ The Last Dance” is the most influential series of the century.
“The Last Dance” brought 5.6 million people to journey through the life of the Chicago Bulls. As Jordan is asked why he wanted to be the greatest during episode 7, he explains how not having a winners mindset has a setback on your capability to be successful.“ My mentality was to go out to win at any cost, if you don’t wanna live that regimented mentality then you don’t need to be alongside me”. Seconds after hearing this quote by “ The Greatest” himself took me a moment to comprehend this bold statement. And right then and there was the most impactful moment of my life .The biggest takeaway from this is the idea that Jordan would do anything to win even if it meant being alongside himself, if that's what he had to do he would. Determination and having a winners mindset powered Jordan to become the best he can be. These traits and themes can empower you in any scenario in your life, you name it, and the traits of determination and having a winner’s mentality will take a major role in your life.
Prior to “The Last Dance " I was never persuaded that winning and being successful is determined on effort and wanting to win; however, since I was awakened to the fact that you can’t get anywhere in life without showing integrity and wanting to win, so I decided it was time to put more effort into basketball and into how I approach things. Every kid's dream is to be the most famous person or to be the greatest at a sport, but what most kids don’t understand is the path you have to take to get to that level. Clearly, Michael Jordan wouldn’t be as well known if he wasn’t “ The Greatest” but he is, and the reason behind his success was because he was more determined and wanted to win more than anyone else on the court. Hehir teaches this lesson to watchers throughout the documentary and sends a bold statement of what it means to do whatever it takes if you’re not satisfied with average, and are wanting to be the best you can be. “ The Last Dance” has clearly stated that the greats of anything on earth never got to where they are without wanting to win and being promised to work hard. Hehir influenced the world with the documentary expressing how having these characteristics can be for you, as it did for me, and every person defined as “ The GOAT”. Just because this documentary is based on basketball doesn't mean it can’t impact you in any way.
As Mark Twain said “ There are basically two types of people. People who accomplish things, and people who claim to have accomplished things”. Now folks, let's not be silly in wasting time to be inspired for the rest of your life, you must watch “ The Last Dance” .
Best, Zane Dean
