Space Jam: A New Legacy

 11 February

Dear readers,

Space Jam a New Legacy is the worst movie ever made because of its horrendous cast and intense CGI. LeBron James acted as if he was a robot. While, the antagonist of the movie Don Cheadle couldn’t bring back the original nostalgic feel of the villain. Moreover the director Malcolm D. Lee failed miserably to create the intense classic basketball feel of the original movie.

In the space jam remake Space Jam A New Legacy, viewers find the movie very CGI heavy and jam packed with confusing twists. This new space jam is a disappointment to fans across the world who were excited to see what Warner Bros did with their new movie. At the end of the movie there is supposed to be a video game like basketball game between the Tunes and Goons. On paper this isn’t a bad idea but once you put this into the movie it just doesn’t click. Viewers state how the ending is hard to follow because of confusing animations and random “style points.” The villain “Al-G Rhythm" acted by Don Cheadle is supposed to be a virtual villain but ended up not having that scary feel of a classic villain. To conclude Space Jam a New Legacy should never be shown to anybody again because of how confusing and CGI heavy it is.

In the original space jam the Luney Toons play a basketball game featuring Micheal Jordan against the “Monstars,” giving the plot a clear focus. On the other hand the sequel shifts to more of a personal father-son conflict between LeBron James and his son. In the sequel they focused solely on the father-son relationship; rather than the high-stakes action packed basketball game we all hoped for. The original movie was roughly 88 minutes long; while the sequel is almost two hours long. Lots of fans and critics felt that all 88 minutes of the original had the classic snappy feel; however the new sequel was nearly two hours of overstuffed, confusing elements that lots of viewers struggled to puzzle together. Lots of Warner Bros fans including me enjoyed watching the 2D “hand drawn” animation of the 1996 version compared to the sequels confusing 3D CGI that made viewers puzzled and clueless about what was going on. In conclusion Space Jam: A New Legacy failed to rise to the hype and will never be as great as the original.

In Space Jam a new legacy the sole theme is about the father son relationship of LeBron and his son. Another sole theme of this movie is about staying true to yourself and following your own passions. Compared to the original Space jam where the theme was solely focused on rediscovering joy and purpose. The reason the theme of Space Jam: A New Legacy is much worse than the original is because of how they tried to bake the theme of family into the movie, which ended up with the movie looking more like a commercial than a movie. To sum up, the theme of the new Space Jam will never compare to the prestigious theme of the original.
