Guardians Through and Through
Dear Movie Fanatics,
From the brilliant mind of James Gunn, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 was born. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 was directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Kurt Russell as Ego, and Micheal Rooker as Yondu. James Gunn has also directed blockbuster movies like The Suiside Squad, Peacemaker, and all of the Guardians Of The Galaxy movies. Also, Chris Pratt has had incredible success in Moneyball, The Lego Movie, and Jurassic World. Additionally, Kurt Russell is a star in Miracle, Bone Tomahawk, and The Christmas Chronicles. Furthermore, Zoe Saldana is in Avatar, Star Trek, and Avengers: Endgame. Finally, Micheal Rooker has been in Fast X, Horizon, and The Suicied Squad.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is about how Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. Unfortunately for the Guardians, Rocket stole the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatched their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, they crash into Ego. Ego is the name of Peter's father who also happens to be a god who wants to conquer the universe. Peter and Ego fight one on one, but Peter has a major choice to make, save the galaxy and kill his father, or endanger the galaxy and rule with his father. Peter ends up destroying his father with the help Yondu, Rocket—voiced by Bradley Cooper— and the other guardians
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is a great movie that incorporates seriousness, with humor. For example, during the final fight scene between Ego and the Guardians, Yondu falls but his magic arrow catches him. Yondu then proceeds to ask Peter if he looks cool, and Peter says,”Yeah, you look like Mary Popins.” Yondu has never been to earth and doesn't know who that is. Yondu asks,”Is he cool?” “H*ll yeah he’s cool.” Peter replies with a smirk. This shows that Gunn has a great sense of humor especially while working with astonishing actors. Gunn also incorporates humor in the first scene. He does this by having Baby Groot dance to “Mr. Blue Sky” while the other Guardians fight an interdimensional monster. Gamora lands on solid ground and sees Baby Groot, and says.”Groot, get out of the way! You’re gonna get hurt!” Baby Groot didn’t understand English very well, so he simply waved to Gamora. Gamora then says,”Hi,” then flies back to the battle. Lastly, Gunn made a scene after the Guardians crashed into a planet named Berhert to avoid the Sovereign that includes mainly Peter and Rocket. Peter calls Rocket a trash panda as an insult to get back at him for what he had done. Rocket than asks genuinely curious,”Is that better?” not knowing that they are practically the same. Peter then responds laughing,”It’s worse. It’s so much worse.” Rocket, now furious, angrily yells,”YOU SON OF A-!“ Ego’s ship then lands on Berhert ending the argument.
The theme of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 is to not let our ‘Egos’ get in the way of our life. This is the theme of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 because the Guardians had to overpower and defeat Ego in the movie. The way Gunn made the villain’s name Ego was a big hint of the theme of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2. In the real world, people let their egos get in the way of them being themselves every day by telling themselves that, “I need to be better,” or, “I am the best here,” when they are really the worst. In my opinion, the people with big egos for themselves tend to be jerks, but if they would watch Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 and read this article, then they would stop having massive egos, and start rethinking their lives to help themselves and others who are like them.
Ultimately, I would give Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 the rating of 9.5 stars out of 10. The movie is getting this rating because of the humor, storyline, and character/actor choice that Gunn made for the film. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 is the second movie in a series of three. In my opinion, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 is the best of the three in the series because of the comedy Chris Pratt and others provided for the world to love. Overall, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 is a must watch show for all Marvel fans, and non-Marvel fans alike.
Happy Watching!
