The Adventures of Outer Banks

 

  If you are looking for a plot thickening show full of mystery, romance, tons of adventure, and a fun aspect of teen drama, this show was made for you!

      Outer Banks portrays many aspects of loyalty, love, and betrayal throughout all four seasons. Our favorite teen Pouges search for many historical items of lost treasure, tied to finding the missing father of the group's ringleader John B. The term “Pogues” is what the main characters of their group call themselves. They live on the poor side of the island, while the rich first class tribe called the kooks, always love to stir up the peace on Kildare island, causing violence, and drama between the two battling tribes, adding the perfect amount of tension to the mix. However, The amount of humor, trust, and honesty between the pogues is what makes these characters so loveable, always ready to fight back.

     Josh Pate, our creator of the show, sure did hire the right people, because these actors prove they can do their job like no other. Chase Stokes, playing John Booker Routledge, shows passion, loyalty, and willing to do anything for his friends. Madaline Cline, playing the role of Sarah Cameron, has stolen many viewers' eyes with her humor, change of heart, and compassion for her friends, and especially her boyfriend John B. The chemistry between the two keeps a main love aspect, stealing the show.

  As for our others in the group, they are always causing some sort of commotion, stirring up drama on the island. Madison Bailey, playing the role of Kiara Carrera, (personally my favorite character) has pleasantly added a mixture of kindness, trouble, love, and just a pinch of attitude. For Madison, playing the role of Kiara, and being Sarah Cameron’s best friend onscreen,  really gives the show a good view of being there for each other no matter what. On the other hand, Rudy Pankow, playing JJ maybank, has always been the pogue getting involved in whatever fight he can, to make his tribe number one, but the one reason he is loved by fans and his fellow pogues so much, is because he is willing to fight to the death for any of them, he cares so much, that the concept of willing to die for his friends became reality in the last episode. JJ has been a big aspect of the outer banks crew and always will be.

     Now everyone knows that there is almost always a villain in a good show, and in this one you wouldn’t guess who. One of them is Charles Esten, known as Ward Cameron. Ward has definitely earned the title of “Worst Dad.” In season 2, he tried to kill his daughter and her boyfriend, he kidnapped and stole from her friends, and emotionally manipulated Sarah into rejoining the perfect family future that he wanted, not even giving a second thought about what his own daughter would want. I think all fans and viewers can agree that Ward Cameron has earned his spot amongst the few villains in Outer Banks. 

 Don’t forget, our two other lovable characters, one, Johnathen Daviss, playing the role of Pope Heyward, is a genius. Additionally, Pope is always the brains of the crew, a little weird sometimes, but he’s a crucial character in the show, showing ambition, strength, and love for his group. Even when some things don’t go as planned, don't worry, Pope is always the one to follow through, and make the episode much more exciting.  Secondly, moving on to Carlacia Grant,  playing the radiant Cleo Anderson, joins into the pogue group and the end of season two, when they all get stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean. Even though Cleo is new to the pogues, she fits in, showing her care for each and every one of them. As new as she is, she proves herself as a valuable member of the pogues.

   Lastly, outer banks is the perfect action packed, thrilling adventure that all of our fans would love to live. Outer Banks is one of the greatest shows that you don’t want to miss out on, make sure that you are one of the people who are as enthusiastic as I am.
