Throne of Glass
Dear Readers,
If you want an amazing book that’s a little bit of everything then I have the perfect book for you. Sarah J. Maas is a skilled author who has written many other incredible book series like Crescent City and A Court of Thorns and Roses. However, I think is Throne of Glass the best out of all of them. Throne of Glass is about a skilled assassin, who must fight warriors to earn a spot as the powerful king’s champion and win her freedom. However there is more going on in the glass castle than meets the eye. Before I begin, I want to say that there are some spoilers in this review, so feel free to skip the third paragraph if you don’t want to spoilers. I love this book, and I think you would love it too.
Throne of Glass has some amazing characters too! One of my favorites is
Nehima, the princess from another land and Celaena’s friend. I don’t want to say to much about her, but she is a incredible character that builds through out the book. Another character that stands out is Chaol, who is the Captain of the guard at the castle and is romantically intrested in someone at the castle. And of course, the main character, Celaena Sardothien, the best assassin in Adarlan. Of course, most people don’t know she is a 18 year old girl, but that’s the least important secret she is keeping. These characters add a whole new layer to the story that gives the story so , much more personality.
This book also has some incredible themes that bring the book to life. One of my favorites that the book shows is that you shouldn’t judge first impressions. An example of this is Celaena’s first impression of Chaol and Dorian ar both completely wrong as we found out later in the book.Another important one is how you can always grow and change that the main character, Celaena, shows through the book. The final theme that I would like to point out is to care for the people you love . This theme is also represented in Nehima when they are talking in her room and she says, “There is nothing I wouldn’t do for my country-no sacrifice to great to keep my people alive and out of slavery, to keep another massacre from happening.” -page 382. This shows how much Nehima cares for her people. This book has amazing themes, chat bring out the story to a whole new level.
When you take in all of the facts, this story is a incredible story. And I’m not the only one who thinks that either. Did I also mention it is a NewYork Times best seller? And all of the people I know who have read Throne of Glass seem to share the same thoughts as me when I read this book. My mom once said to me that halfway through the book, she couldn’t put it down. After adding in all of the information I have told you, I think you and I will agree that this story is a must read.
Sincerely, Eloise M
