Wicked: for Good: The Worst Movie Ever
Dear readers,
If you ever can’t find a movie to watch, do not watch Wicked: for Good. How the producers made this movie will have you leaving in the middle of it. From the amount of extra romance, to the outstretched plot, this would be the worst movie that I have ever seen.
The movie starts right where it left off from the first movie. Elphaba ends Defying Gravity and flies off into the distance. The next thirty minutes or so aren’t that bad, but after, it gets crazy. At Glinda and Fierro’s wedding, Elphaba crashes the wedding and runs away. In the middle of the wedding, Elphaba crashes it and destroys the entire ceremony. And in the flurry of the destroyed wedding, Fiero decides he has feelings for Elphaba. Why? Because apparently he had always liked Elphaba since their conversation in the woods while freeing a lion cub. When Fiero decides he doesn’t want to marry Glinda, he and Elphaba ride off on her flying broom while Glinda is being so dramatic while mourning about her and Fiero losing their relationship.
Meanwhile at Elphaba’s makeshift tree house, she and Fiero sing a dramatic romantic song about how much they love and trust each other. And while that's happening, the directors of the movie needed to make the movie longer so they made up a song for Glinda about how she is “The Girl in a Bubble” expressing how lonely she is.
After that, it cuts to Elphaba and Fiero. And they are in bed with each other. Then, she secludes herself in a castle which she gets “killed” in. But actually, she made an illusion making everyone think she is dead. Then the movie ends dramatically when Elphaba and Scarecrow Fiero walk into the sunset.
One of the horrible parts in Wicked for Good is that there is a lot of extra romance. In the movie, Elphaba and Fiero have a long scene about how they love each other. They sing an entire full length song about how they trust each other. How did they come together? Elphaba crashed Fiero and Glinda’s wedding, so Fiero decides that he does not want to be with Glinda anymore; he secretly loves Elphaba more than he wants to be with Fiero. After Fiero and Elphaba sing a song, they go to bed together. In bed, Elphaba has some sort of vision of her sister Nessa Rose being killed by a house flying from the sky landing on her.
Another part that is terrible is that they added two whole new songs to the movie. The songs are No Place Like Home and The Girl in a Bubble. The Girl in a Bubble is about how Glinda wants to stop being a part of all the wars against her friend Elphaba. One of the lyrics in the song The Girl in a Bubble is “She's the girl in the bubble, The bright shiny bubble, Blissfully floating above”(Stephen Schwartz). That is the cheesiest lyrics that I have ever heard. The second song, No Place Like Home is about how much she loves OZ but OZ hates her. There are lyrics that you could just have her say out loud. I think the only reason that they added two other songs is that they needed to add more time because they had to make the second movie just as long as the first.
In conclusion, this movie is so bad I wouldn’t even pay to watch it. Maybe I wouldn’t even watch it at all. This long movie will make you fall asleep the moment it starts. The long scenes and the added songs are way too much to have in a movie. I think that the first one is so much better than the second one. This movie should never be watched by anyone.
Signed,
Ellia Looper
