Inside Out 2

February 3, 2025

Dear Movie Lovers,

Moments ago, I looked upon Disney in search of a situational comedy movie for teens. A recommended movie, Inside Out 2 made by Kelsey Mann and Meg LeFauve showed on my recommended for you page. I looked into the movie and noticed that Mann and LeFauve had included many comedic lessons specialized to teach teenagers and kids about puberty which is an important topic for many. So, as you have probably guessed, I watched the movie. I noticed that this movie covered everything that a middle schooler/teen should know about in a slow but inviting tone. Ultimately, Inside Out 2 is a steady paced but enjoyable movie for everyone; especially teenagers.

Mann and LeFauve created this movie to have a steady paced introduction and towards the end, the two added a more fast tone which then was changed again when all of the old emotions lost faith in each other . To explain further, when the new emotions arrived, the old ones were not in control anymore which caused conflict and made the main character, Riley, go out of control for a while. When the old emotions returned, they learned how to cope with the new emotions. LeFauve and Mann quote, “Do you know how hard it is to stay positive when all you folks do is complain and complain?” This quote shows how the always-happy character, Joy, loses hope in her co-workers and thinks that she’s the only one who is actually taking action. However, in conclusion, the plot of Inside Out 2 starts slowly, escalates into a courage-losing argument but then eventually calms down when the emotions learn to cope with each other.

The movie, Inside Out 2, teaches many important lessons, the main one being take your time to process new emotions. So, when anxiety, envy, and embarrassment arrived, the main character, Riley, acted as if she wasn’t herself anymore which is key in just being you. Riley knew these emotions were controlling her and she was so excited that she basically left her ‘old self’ behind. When Mann and LeFauve included this, it made many of the viewers relate, wonder, and even determine what will happen next. LeFauve and Mann quote, “I don’t know how to stop anxiety. Maybe we can’t.” This quote shows how Riley processed her emotions in a fast manner which resulted in her old feelings—the ones who showed her real self, to give up. By this, her true self was left behind which showed us, viewers, that being a teenager can be hard; especially if you act differently. By this, I have concluded that the entertaining movie, Inside Out 2, has many critical lessons, the main one being you should always take time to learn and process your emotions—whether they're new or not.

The film, Inside Out 2, is a suitable and enjoyable movie for teenagers. This motion-picture shows the viewers what it’s really like to experience puberty. Puberty is an important part of growing up, as everyone goes through it. By watching this film, I noticed that it gave useful information which is key for teenagers. Inside Out 2 shows how Riley gets into drama with her best friends because she doesn’t want her “coolness score” to be affected. By being a teenager, as I am one, your emotions can easily change and suddenly, you care what other people think about you. Inside Out 2 gives their audience advice on how to cope with this which was really helpful for me. To sum this up, if you're in search of an enjoyable movie for a teenager, Inside Out 2 is the way to go.

So, In the end, I personally loved this book and as I would recommend it to teenagers, it can be truly for anyone who is interested in an uniquely themed movie. By explaining and exploring the plot, theme, and even how Mann and LeFauve wrote Inside Out 2, I really hope that this movie will be your next watch.

Yours truly,

Teigan Heller
